Corrections

A wrong price or a wrong fact costs a grieving family money and time. When we have one wrong, we fix it and date the fix below.

How to report an error

Email editor@cremationclear.com with the page address and what is wrong. For a price, include the link to the provider's current price page or General Price List. You do not need to be a customer, and a business never has to pay or advertise to get its page corrected.

How fast we fix it

When we confirm an error, the fix is live on the site within one business day and is added to the log below with its date. A wrong price is fixed the same day we confirm it. If we cannot confirm it, we tell you what we checked.

What we can change, and what we cannot

We fix:

  • A price that differs from the provider's own price page or General Price List, or that the provider has changed.
  • A phone number, website, address or service, once the provider or its public Google profile confirms it.
  • A state rule, waiting period or fee that differs from the law or agency page we cite, and links that no longer work.

We cannot change:

  • A price the provider has not published. We show only prices a provider prints; we never estimate one.
  • Ratings and review counts. They come from the provider’s Google profile.

Log of corrections and updates

A correction means we had something wrong. An update means the source changed or moved. Design and speed changes are not listed.

  • October 20, 2026 Correction
The planning box on the home, state, city and service pages asked for a mobile number and promised one follow-up with local provider prices, but no message was being sent from this site, and no number was ever stored. The box now links to the published prices for the area and the state where we have enough of them, the price guide and your rights under the Funeral Rule, so you can bookmark them. It has no form and asks for no phone number or email. The privacy page now says so.
  • October 11, 2026 Update
13 official links fixed after their owners moved the pages (Hillsborough and Duval County medical examiners, Missouri vital records, EPA burial at sea, VA headstones, Broward, Lubbock, the Tennessee funeral board's travel page and others). The 46 quotes on them were checked again.
  • October 11, 2026 Correction
Service labels taken from provider websites now show only services the provider's own site offers. A sample check found 89 of 100 labels right before the change (wrong ones came from a sister location's page, a pet business, an FAQ question or a general sentence). A fresh sample after the change found 98 of 100 right.
  • October 10, 2026 Update /costs/
We withdrew a national "cremation with service" range of $3,000 to $7,000 from every page: the industry page we cited no longer states it. The national direct cremation range now shows its source page's date (March 13, 2026) and the date we read it.
  • October 9, 2026 Correction /provider/the-cremation-company-nashville-d9dc0/
Direct cremation price corrected from $945 to $995, the figure on the provider's own price page when we read it again.
  • October 9, 2026 Correction /provider/cremations-only-llc-springdale-06a65/
Direct cremation price corrected from $1,295 to $1,395, the figure on the provider's own price page when we read it again.
  • October 9, 2026 Update /provider/alternative-cremation-and-funeral-services-franklin-b1e63/
The provider's price page is gone, so its price is now marked not confirmed and left out of every price summary. Two older prices on price lists we can no longer read are marked the same way. All 126 published prices were read again that day; 111 were unchanged.
  • October 7, 2026 Correction
Home, state and service pages said every listing had been checked open. 24 of 1,540 had not been checked on Google in the last 12 months. The pages now give the real count, and each listing shows the month of its own check or says it has not been re-checked.
  • October 7, 2026 Correction /about-our-data/
Our method page overstated our checks. It said sources were compared with each other (listings come from one source, Google), that license status is checked when a provider claims its listing, and that every listing showed a verification date. Those lines are gone. The page for providers no longer says listings come from licensing records.
  • September 29, 2026 Correction
State pages showed 0 listed providers; they now count listings by address. Lines saying listings were checked against state records were removed from state and city pages and the footer, because they were not.
