The national picture
CANA reports a US cremation rate of 61.8% in 2024 and 62.8% in 2025. The 2025 figure is provisional and may change.
CANA projects 69.1% by 2030.
NFDA projected 63.4% for 2025 and 82.3% by 2045.

Our states
CANA's public summary shows each state as a color band on a map. Exact state percentages are in CANA's members only report, so we show the bands.
In 2025, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas were in the 51 to 60 percent band.
Kansas was in the 61 to 70 percent band.
Tennessee was in the 41 to 50 percent band.
Arkansas moved up from the 41 to 50 percent band in 2021. CANA noted in 2024 that Arkansas had passed 50 percent. Kansas moved up from 51 to 60 percent in 2021.
Five places had the lowest rates in 2024: Mississippi (36.4%), Alabama (42.1%), Puerto Rico (43.3%), Kentucky (43.6%) and Utah (45.4%). None of our six states is on that list.
